Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security has denied the occurrence of any new updates to solve the problem of people who banned from getting a passport in the Gaza Strip.
Eng. Ihab Al-Ghusain, a spokesman for Ministry of Interior, said in a statement that he denied any updates to solve the problem of passports, confirming "all that is said in the mass media is incorrect."
Al-Ghusain showed that the reconciliation with Fatah movement will not be completed, if the issue of passports is not completely ended.
He explained that "If Fatah members want to actually implement reconciliation, the issue of passports must be ended."
Moreover, Al-Ghusain confirmed the presence of continuous efforts by all parties to resolve the crisis of passports, but "there are not any development until this moment."
The spokesman for the Interior Ministry affirmed that thousands of people who are living in the Gaza Strip are being banned from getting passports.
Al-Ghusain demanded to send passports to the Gaza Strip, which should be issued by the competent authorities in the General Directorate of Passports.
Meanwhile, Al-Ghusain considered the talking about partial solutions regarding the crisis of passports "unacceptable and inconceivable."
He also considered that the most important aspects of the split between the West Bank and Gaza is preventing sending passports to thousands of citizens in the Gaza Strip.
"
The passports should be sent to the Gaza Strip normally, and the General Directorate of Passports be able to issue passports in Gaza according to the law and standards followed before." Al-Ghusain added.
The Interior Ministry called in earlier all citizens who barred from obtaining a passport o register their data on its website.
