Many members of Civil Defense on Wednesday morning sit-in in front of the headquarters of the United Nations and UNRWA and the International Committee of Red Cross in the Gaza Strip.
The civil defense crews participated in the sit-in to demand the protection of their staff from the Israeli bombing and aggression, as they are civilians.
Whereas, a delegation of civil defense handed over the international letters condemn the Israeli targeting against the headquarters of civil defense during the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
The civil defense demanded in his letter to provide the necessary protection to their members and their crews and protect them from the fire of the Israeli bombing.
Meanwhile, the protestors addressed the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, in special letter, to put an end to the Israeli brutal practices against civilians, disregarding any international rules or human rights. "
The protestors said: "Now, we are commemorating the third anniversary of the brutal Israeli aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip, which destroyed stone and trees and people and violated the international and humanitarian law."
Moreover, the protesters demanded the United Nations to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and their civil institutions and NGOs.
They also demanded to hold responsible for the Israeli war criminals, who have targeted all the civil defense headquarters in the Gaza Strip and hospitals, clinics of medical services.
Accordingly, the protesters called to pressure on the Israeli occupation to pay compensation for the families of killed and wounded people in the civil defense and medical services.
They also stressed that the civil defense and medical services are set up to serve the civilian population, and they are civil institutions that should not be targeted, as the international Geneva law provided.
The letter added, "The cadres and members of civil defense and medical services are civilians as provided in the international Geneva Conventions, that may not be targeted and must protected."
