Gaza premier has asked the Arab League to implement former decisions to break the siege on the Gaza Strip during a joint press conference with the League’s secretary general Nabil Al-Arabi in Cairo on Monday.
Haneyya said that he asked Arabi about the steps on the ground which were taken to implement those decisions.
He then stressed that the Palestinian reconciliation process was a strategic option, adding that efforts were being made to block Israeli and American intervention to foil it.
The premier warned of an Israeli scheme to Judaize Jerusalem, and championed financial and political support for Jerusalem.
He said that money should be channeled to Jerusalemites to boost their steadfastness in the holy city while on the political arena Arabs should assert at all international platforms that Jerusalem was and would remain the capital of Palestine.
Arabi, for his part, said that he discussed all aspects of the Palestine cause with Haneyya, adding that the League’s potentials were at the disposal of the Palestinian people.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Al-Dirawi, the head of the Palestinian studies center in Cairo, disclosed that Haneyya’s tour was shortened to include only Egypt, Sudan and Tunisia.
He explained that Haneyya would then return to Gaza before embarking on a new tour that would take him to other Arab and Islamic countries.
