Palestinian Non-Governmental Organisations Network (PNGO Network) confirmed that two boats carrying aid and 27 solidarity activists from various nationalities, set sail towards Gaza.

The organisation said in a statement Wednesday evening that the Canadian Tahrir boat and the Irish Hurreyah boat set sail from a Turkish port and are now sailing in international waters towards the Gaza Strip. The organisation added that there are 27 solidarity activists on board, one of them a Palestinian student from Haifa.
The organisation said that in addition to solidarity, defiance and steadfastness, the two boats carry a message of unity, freedom and hope for the Palestinian people.

The organisation called on the international community to protect the solidarity activists who are on a humanitarian mission which aims to show solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip by bringing to light their plight under the oppressive siege, and held the occupation responsible for safety of the solidarity activists.
The organisation further stressed that siege-busting ships should continue to sail to Gaza to express solidarity with the people of Gaza, as such ships helped highlight the issue on the international level.

The two boats carry medicines and medical consumables.

For its part, the Israeli occupation forces announced that they will stop the two boats from entering the territorial waters of the Gaza Strip.

IOF spokesman said that the occupation navy was getting ready to stop the two boats.
