The energy and natural resources authority has announced that the Gaza power station would be able to work with full capacity in May thanks to the generous contribution of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the UNDP.

The authority said in a statement on Tuesday that the IDB financed the purchase of four turbines to the power station and the UNDP carried out the implementation part.

It explained that at the conclusion of installing those turbines next month the power station would be able to produce 120 Megawatt of electricity and return to full capacity for the first time since the Israeli occupation forces shelled the station in 2006.

The authority expressed its gratitude for such a generous donation that would contribute in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and boosting their steadfastness.
