Palestinians were hanged in Gaza on Saturday, one of them for "collaborating" with the Israelis, Ministry of Interior stated .

The other two were convicted of murder, the Ministry of Interior and National Security statement said. One was also found guilty of one count of sodomy with a child under 16.

The sentences were carried out according to legal procedures and all three had exhausted their right to appeal, the statement said.

Some of mass media reported thecondemnation of Saturday’s execution of three men in the Gaza Strip.

The ministry responded that the decision taken in accordance with the law and traditions, the families of the victims were asked at the last minute whether they were willing to forgive the convicts. The families declined, paving the way for the executions.

The Interior Ministry, which oversees the work of the security forces in the Gaza Strip, said in other statement that the executions had been aimed at “protecting the safety of the public.”

Once again, the Ministry of Interior and National Security responded that the death sentence implemented according to the previous law of the Palestinian authority not according to the present authority, confirming that they will apply the same law until the issuance of new law by the Palestinian Legislative council.
