The Palestinian union of transport workers appealed to the Egyptian government and parliament to help Gaza with its current ravaging power and fuel crisis and find a permanent solution to it.
"The power crisis worsens day after day and the situation is getting worse in light of this crisis that has cast a shadow over all aspects of life in the Gaza Strip, and as a result of the systematic policy which the Zionist occupation is pursuing to tighten its blockade on Gaza," head of the union Jamal Jarad told a news conference on Monday held at Rafah border crossing.
"It is clear that the occupation wants to paralyze the Palestinian economy completely, especially after some professions have revived even modestly, Jarad added.
"The occupation is using one of the worst kinds of warfare at all against unarmed people through blocking the entry of basic vital needs which are taken for granted by other people of the world, but in the Gaza Strip, it is different because there is the Israeli occupation that conspires with the enemies of humanity to carry out its schemes," he stated.
The unionist affirmed that the persistent failure to supply Gaza with its fuel needs caused and still a humanitarian catastrophe and paralyzed industries, workshops, health, agriculture, fishing and transportation.
