Women police originated a new force to participate in the campaign of removing encroachments on governmental lands; in order to raise critical for women who are in the place of infringement.
In this context, lieutenant colonel Nariman Odwan, general director of women police, confirmed that the women police adopted a plan for the campaign is how to deal with women, who are in the governmental lands; because it is the right of the government and the infringement is forbidden in Islam.
Odwan pointed out to the Interior Ministry's website that the main reason that prompted the Ministry of Interior to develop a woman force belonging to the forces of intervention and order maintenance is to support the policemen in the tasks that men can't do, especially in matters pertaining to women.
Moreover, lieutenant colonel Odwan said: "the campaign of removing encroachments aimed at removing the encroachments on the governmental lands; in order to save and protect the rights of people and put an end to anyone encroaches on the territory of government", noting that the women police break up the disputes and riots which carried out by women.
She added: "This women force, that consist of 25 policewomen, have been trained for four months through special training courses and specialized courses to break up the riot, as well as training on some modern means to break up riots."
With regard to the difficulties that faced in the policewomen during the field missions, Odwan denied any difficulties because of the high efficiency which is characterized by the policewomen.
Accordingly, lieutenant colonel Odwan praised the important role of the security services and Palestinian police in removing encroachments, pointing out that the process is continuing in all governorates of the Gaza Strip, without exception, in order to maintain the governmental lands and prevent the predominance of the citizens.
Odwan said: "This lands are the property of the Palestinian people, which is based on the authority of the state, therefore who has no right, has no force."
Lieutenant colonel Odwan called all trespassers on public property to return the properties to the state, because the Qura'n and the prophetic traditions emphasize that attacking on public property is forbidden in Islam. "
Also, Odwan showed that the Palestinian government has helped the citizens who have been removed by providing an alternative place either a land 300 meters, or a rent flat, until they find another house.
On the other hand, the policewoman Somaiya Halawa explained the police take into account the conditions of people, especially who are homeless, although they are trespassers, and they provide another shelter for them.
Furthermore, the policewoman Hanan Abu Ghanema pointed out that the women force had received special training in how to deal with people, and self-defense courses, break-ins course, as well as training on modern methods to break up riots.
The policewoman Sahar Abed confirmed that women police should be characterized by strength, courage, and ability to deal with others.
