The martyr captain Shaalan Abd Al-Latif Khalil Abd Al-Salaam was born on 1/8/1976, in a modest house in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood to a refugee family from the city of Jaffa, that occupied by the Israeli enemy in 1948, and he characterized with good and high morals and courteous manners.
Shaalan studied the primary in Al-Zahawi School, while he studied the prep in another school due to the difficult economic situation, so he leave the school and go to sewing.
The martyr Shaalan was characterized with calm, proper etiquette and good manners, and he was loved by his friends, relatives and neighbors.
In 2006, the martyr Shaalan joined the Executive Force, which was founded by the Interior Minister Said Siyam, then he worked as a bodyguard for the First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council Dr. Ahmed Bahar.
The martyr Shaalan went on the morning of Saturday, 27/12/2008. As usual to the headquarters of Security and Protection Service, and he said to his colleagues: "the situation in Gaza is natural and we must evacuate the place", then immediately the Israeli rockets fell in the place and he was killed, we ask Allah to give him mercy.
