A lawyer visiting detained Islamic Jihad leader Sheikh Adnan Khader have said that his health condition was very serious after 43 days of hunger strike.
A lawyer with The Palestinian prisoner’s association said that Adnan was living on water only without salt. She said after meeting him that he was adamant on continuing his strike despite seriousness of his condition.
The lawyer quoted Adnan in a recent visit as saying that he would continue in his hunger strike that started at the onset of his detention on 17/12/2011 in rejection of humiliation and torture then turned into rejection of administrative detention.
Adnan will continue in his open hunger strike until his release, the lawyer said.
A group of societies demanding Adnan’s release had called for a massive rally in solidarity with him in front of the Ofer court tomorrow Monday during which Adnan would stand trial, and urged the media to cover the event.
