Col. He said: "There is a balanced policy between security requirements and the requirements of reform and rehabilitation, which is limited in several of the most important programs and activities dealing with educational and cultural life of the inmates within the Reform and Rehabilitation Centers."
Sulaiman explained that the students of inmates classified by level of education for them ,saying there are university students, and some of them are at the stage of high school, and others do not know how to read and write so we specialize the literacy programs for them.
He added: "The Department of rehabilitation and reform centers prepare to hold exams in the third month of each year to create a suitable atmosphere and conditions for the functioning of the educational process and the holding of examinations," noting that the department of prison allow visits by the families of inmates to provide what they need from school supplies such as books, and references, as well as lessons that may be useful guest inside the center. "
Suleiman said that the inmates inside the centers are treated very well throughout and in the private times of study and examinations to prepare them psychologically, and morally to complete the educational process that may make them useful persons later, mix them in the institutions of civil society away from crime.
He classified the students who want to pass the exams, saying: "There is a class of inmates students "the owners of serious crimes" threat the society where they passing their final exams in the rehabilitation centers in" Al-Kateba " headquarters, and others have a simple sentence and does not constitute a danger to the community so we allow to be in the places of study in the regular school and universities after the adoption of guarantees and guarantees for their return. "
Suleiman praised the role of the Ministry of Education and its cooperation with the common internal committees and to provide the appropriate atmosphere to provide examinations within Reform and Rehabilitation centers, mentioning the visit of the Minister of Education Dr. Osama Muzaini last year, which in turn welcomed the involvement of inmates students of rehabilitation centers and their integration into the institutions of civil society.
For his part, Mr. Marwan Sharaf ,General Manager of examinations in the Ministry of Education,has confirmed that his ministry is moving steadily toward high school students in all schools in the governorates of the Gaza Strip.
He explained that there is a cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Interior to organize student affairs within the reform rehabilitation centers, and determine the number of applicants, and the section want to join by the student, pointing to the existence of a special committee to hold examinations fill out the applications for high school students in rehabilitation and reform centers.
He said: "Each student fill his application to participate in the matriculation examinations according to his Directorate, then the members of committee follow the rest procedures of students' applications ," noting that the Commission moving naturally, like all committees outside rehabilitation centers .
Sharaf evaluate the role of the Ministry of Interior to allow students in the reform and rehabilitation centers to complete their education, because of an awareness and education impact on the psychological and mental inmate within Reform Centers.
"It is worth mentioning that most of the students of inmates in the Rehabilitation and Reform Centers were on the school continue the educational process normally outside the prison."
