Bitter cold .. time of exams .. important signs to know that the electricity is cut off in the Gaza Strip all the time, without explanation from the competent authorities the causes of cutting off the electricity constantly and not following the appointed times. In addition, the electric current is powerless, which break down many electrical appliances.
This report shows the daily suffering of citizens in the Gaza Strip due to frequent power cuts in the times of exams and this cold weather.
Abu Ahmed Mushtaha,37, from Al-Shijaia eastern Gaza City, said: "The electricity has become a curse than a blessing, whereas, the electric current is intermittently and very weak," that led to break down my fridge and iron.
He also said that the electricity became cut off every day, once in the morning and once in the evening and at irregular times, wondering about the new problem that had taken place recently in the exams' times.
Moreover, Em Hassan invoked God to unite the Palestinian people and end the division, wishing to live in Gaza as other states, without power outages.
Also, Em Majed Al-Alami, 27, confirmed that the power cuts affected a lot on my children in the times of exams, who could not study because of the darkness and bitter cold. So, She called all competent authorities to solve the problem of cutting off the electricity as soon as possible.
Jamal Al-Dardasawi, director of public relations in Gaza power station, justified the reason for the frequent power cuts on citizens due to the increased loads on the electricity grid because of the cold weather.
Al-Dardasawi showed that the use of heating devices that consume large amounts of energy has increased the percentage of disability in the network that suffer from wear caused by the loss of large quantities of power before they reach the homes and facilities.
