Lt. Col. Hussein Zo'rob confirmed that the department of training is one of the most important departments, that seeks to develop the human staff in the Directorate of Civil Defence.
Zo'rob said that the most important tasks of civil defence are fire fighting, rescue, ambulance, security and safety and civil protection and marine rescue.
He added the department of training includes internal and external courses, but the last is now stopped due to the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip.
The year 2011 witnessed a significant increase in the number of courses and activities which numbered 309 and benefit 18,069.
The department of training specializes to provide employees of the Palestinian Civil Defense with constitutional sciences in the field of work they perform, in addition to devoting the theoretical and practical concepts for the civil defence, and to develop the knowledge and skills of the trainees to achieve their arrival to a level that enables them to deal with the event or disaster. Also, it trained the public and private sector and civil society institutions to all tasks of civil defense.
Accordingly, Zo'rob wished to a exemplary training for the staff of the civil defence technical and professional, administrative to access to optimal performance in all acts of civil defense in accordance with essential humanitarian principles and values .
Moreover, Zo'rob confirmed that the campaign "102 for your safety" was launch by the Ministry of Interior; in order to maintain the home front and the security and safety of citizens in all security directions. "
With regard to activities of the campaign 102, Lt. Col. Zo'rob explained that the visits included houses, schools, civil and governmental institutions, as well as giving guidance and advices to drivers on the roads, and delivering lectures in the mosques and distributing leaflets on the junctions, "asserting that 23,242 activities have been implemented within thirty days in all governorates of the Gaza Strip.

There is a great response by the citizens arrived to demand the civil defense to implement the largest possible number of events to the civic and community institutions." Zo'rob added.
Concerning the main difficulties, Lt. Col. Zo'rob showed that the lack of financial means and material always affect on our work," adding: "Tanks to Allah first, then to the members of civil defense, we overcome these difficulties."
On the other hand, Dr. Abdeen Fayez, a specialist in the surgical operations and anesthesia and recovery, is one of the Palestinians doctors union in Europe, who has visited the Gaza Strip for 14 days.
Dr. Fayez said: We came to Gaza to offer health and medical services, as well as to rehabilitate and train the human resources a model training to keep pace with modern development.
"Also, the aim of our visit is to study the situation in the hospitals and clinics of the Ministry of Health to provide support and assistance for them.
With regard to maneuver which carried out by the members of the Civil Defence, Dr. Fayez considered as a glorious trait and great within the modest possibilities for the Civil Defence.
Therefore, Dr. Fayez appreciated the campaign "102 for your safety" and the maneuver, which carried out by the Civil Defence's members.
