Israeli occupation commits 120 violations against Journalists, arrests 17

The Palestinian Journalist Assembly said that 2011 witnessed an escalation of violations by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian journalists.

"The occupation's violations against journalists were concentrated in targeting journalists covering weekly protests against the wall, especially in the villages of Nilin, Belin and Nabi Saleh near Ramallah as well as Beit Ummar to the north of al-Khalil,” the PJA said.

A statement issued by the PJA on Wednesday said that the year 2011 witnessed more than 120 violations against journalist during their coverage of events.

Most prominent of these violations were 17 arrests of journalists, questioning them and confiscating their equipment.
