The Israeli prison authority has denied medical treatment for a detained university student who is need of an urgent surgery, his relatives complained on Sunday.
They said in a press release that 23-year-old Yazan Jarrar from Jenin was suffering from swollen neck and that he was in need of an urgent operation, adding that the prisons authority even refused to allow them to send him winter clothes at the pretext that he was still under interrogation.
They said that the Salem military court in Salem detention facility ordered the extension of Jarrar’s detention for the sixth consecutive time despite his medical condition.
They pointed out that Jarrar appeared in court while both his feet and hands were shackled.
In a related development, the Palestinian prisoners in Etzion jail said that they were freezing in their cells due to the shortage in covers and winter clothes.
They said that the prison authority served them bad quality and quantity of food to the extent that they were being served tea with salt at the pretext that there was no sugar in the penitentiary.
