Israel and Hamas agreed Tuesday to swap more than 1,000 Palestinian prisoners for Israeli captive soldier Gilad Shalit, resolving one of the most emotive and intractable issues between them.
Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal said Israel will release 1,027 prisoners in two stages. Within a week, 450 will be swapped for Shalit and the rest will be freed two months later. Twenty-seven women are among those on the release roster.
Gilad Shalithas been the most famous prisoner in the Middle East since he was captured by Palestinian fighters on the Israeli side of the border with the Gaza Strip in the summer of 2006.
In this context we in the media office followed to the ministry of interior talked with the mother of the released Ahmed Alhto who said: I asked the mercy and forgiveness for each of the sacrificed lives of the martyrs in order to complete this deal and ask God to put patient inside the heart of their families and compensate them, and to make their patience door for them to enter Paradise of that they save our sons from the prison and they were reason for the success of this deal, and getting us this happy day, and the negotiating delegation , Abu Abed Haniya and the countries pressing for the success of the deal, I ask goodness for them and I do not forget the leader Abu Khaled Al-Daif and Hamas and all who contributed to successes the deal, but I demand more freedom for the rest of our prisoners.
The mother of Alhto also thanked everyone who contributed in the kidnapping of Shalit and asked mercy to all our martyrs who have fallen in the past five years, and who sacrificed their lives to reach such a great day, but I call on all resistance factions on the ground to capture other soldiers to take out the rest of our prisoners left the prison.
My heart is buried by pain for many years , a joy and pleasure inside it now , I waited this moment along , it misses his eyes that did not see since a long time , and my heart miss him and want to hear the word of my mother, despite all of this we have an incomplete joy because the brothers who are staying behind Israeli prisons with merciless jailer.
