Civil Defense in the northern governorate does not spare no efforts to maintain the citizens and their property. During 2011, the civil defense is keen to develop all cadres and upgrade them, it also organized several awareness campaigns for citizens. This report reviews the major achievements which made by the Civil Defense in the north of Gaza Strip in 2011.
 

Lieutenant colonel Samir Al-Khatib, head of civil defense in the northern governorate, confirmed that the civil defense achieved during 2011 security and safety for all and e preserve the lives of citizens.
 

Al-Khatib pointed out that the civil defense crews have controlled all fires that erupted in the northern governorate and reduced the proportion of losses.
"

We also have controlled the difficult fires, as the fire which broke out in the roaster of Abu Ghanima, whereas, our crews rushed to extinguish it, that led to wounding three firefighters, and the fourth was suffocated." Al-Khatib said.
 

With regard to the most prominent achievements which made by the civil defense in the north of Gaza Strip during this year, Al-Khatib added: "The Navel Rescue did not score any deaths on our shores in 2011."
 

Furthermore, Al-Khatib explained that the industrial security always organizes field visits and completes the transactions of factories, and they eliminate the phenomenon of random crushers that make a risk to citizens, as well as get rid of the phenomenon of gas filling in the homes in an informal manner.
 

Al-Khatib showed that the civil defense in the north organized many summer camps for school students to raise awareness of the work of firefighters, rescue, and ambulance, noting that they trained all teachers and students and made an evacuation in Um Al-Fahem.
 

Concerning the continued Israeli escalation on the Gaza Strip, Al-Khatib said: "We are fully ready at any time, and all our cadres on standby, in order to preserve the lives of citizens and their properties.
