The Palestinian Prisoner Society warned that Palestinian captives at the Ramlah prison hospital suffer difficult health conditions coupled with carelessness on the part of the prison administration.
The PPS said in a statement on Sunday that the Ramlah prison captives warned that they will take further protest steps because the Israeli prison administration refused to address their complaints. They started by rejecting meals, to which the prison administration responded by imposed penalties on the section, including a ban on buying from the canteen.
The captives told the PPS lawyer that the prison administration ordered the prisoners to pay for the meals, because they did not inform the administration that they would not be accepting those meals. The prison administration also transferred Yaser Nazzal and Ala’ Hassouna to solitary and barred family visits slated for next week.
After that the prison administration contacted the prisoners and told them that their presence in the new section is temporary, two or three months, and after that they will be returned to the old ward, which is better equipped for the sick prisoners.
For his part, captive Nahed Al-Aqra’, told the PPS lawyer that he will go on hunger strike after Eid-ul-Adha, unless the administration does something to solve the problems associated with the new ward which lacks facilities, especially for the disabled.
