Maj. Fahed Harb, inspector investigations of accidents in the traffic police, said: "The number of road accidents in the governorates of the Gaza Strip during the day of Eid Al-Adha were 160 accidents."
Harb confirmed in a statement that these accidents killed two girls in Gaza, Ayyat Hamid, 4, Myrna Al-Afghani, 8, in addition to a clinical death to the driver of a motorcycle.
Furthermore, the road accidents injured 125 people during the day of Eid Al-Adha, including 6 serious injuries admitted to the intensive care in hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
Harb pointed out that the most road accidents during Eid was the result of motorcycle accidents, whereas, more than 100 people, under the age of 18 years, were wounded.
"The cause of these accidents is the human "the driver", who is responsible for avoiding such traffic accidents by controlling the vehicle speed and commitment to specific legal." Harb said.
