Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security is following up the dangerous Israeli escalation on the Gaza Strip since last Saturday afternoon, which led to the assassination of many leaders of Al-Quds Brigades, military wing of Islamic Jihad. Whereas, the Israeli warplanes are still killing, bombing and terrorizing innocent people in their homes for a third day in a row, despite the announcement of reaching a state of truce with the resistance factions by Egyptian-mediated.
Although the Palestinian resistance factions dealt in the state of truce, which applied for a few hours on Sunday morning; however, the Israeli occupation again broke the truce after targeting a group of citizens in the east of Rafah on Sunday afternoon, as well as targeting a group of citizens in the east of Khan Younis, southern the Gaza Strip on Monday morning.
Furthermore, Ministry of Interior confirmed that the latest Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, which resulted in until the moment for killing 12 martyrs and wounded ten others, is considered as a state of defeat that controls the Israeli government after the great achievement made by the prisoner exchange deal, which released 477 Palestinian prisoners in the first phase. And now the Palestinians are awaiting the release of 550 prisoners in the second phase of the deal.
Concerning the continued Israeli aggression, killings and terrorizing peaceful citizens, the Ministry of the Interior emphasizes on the following:
1- We condemn the continued killings, bombings and targeting citizens, who are busy in preparation to receive Eid Al-Adha, and we consider the Israeli crime against our people "is not justified, and it is killing with premeditation." So, we hold the Israeli occupation full responsibility for the military escalation against the Gaza Strip, and we stress that its goal is disturbing the joy of releasing the prisoners from the Israeli jails.
2- We demand all human rights organizations and Arab and international parties to intervene to put an end to the Israeli escalation and call the Israelis to halt its crimes against human beings, stones and trees in the Gaza Strip.
3- We emphasize that the Israeli goal of escalation is disturbing the joy of releasing the Palestinian prisoners and spoiling the happiness and celebrations by bombs and raids in the Gaza Strip.
4- We assure that the Israeli occupation tries through the aggression to draw attention away from popular marches, which demand improving social and living conditions in the Israeli entity.
5- We appreciate the role of the resistance factions that positively deal with the Egyptian efforts to stabilize the truce with the Israeli occupation. We also stress on our people's right to defend themselves against the Israeli crimes.
6- We emphasize on the readiness of all security agencies of the Interior Ministry, that have taken all security precautions in case of any brutal Israeli aggression might target the Gaza Strip.
