Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security has announced that the number of population in the Gaza Strip until 30/9/2011 is 1,713,505 people.
It explained that the number of citizens in the north of Gaza reached 278,497 inhabitants, including 141,520 males and 136,977 females, and the number of citizens in Gaza reached 650,522 inhabitants, including 330,191 males and 320,331 females, while the total number of citizens in the central of is 240,146, including 120,931 males and 119,215 females.
Ministry of Interior pointed out that the number of citizens in Khan Younis reached 331,906 inhabitants, including 163,398 females and 168,508 males, while the number of citizens in Rafah 212,434 citizens, including 106,364 males and 106,070 females.
Furthermore, the Interior Ministry mentioned, in statistics issued recently, that according to age groups, the number of citizens in the Gaza Strip who are less than 14 years is 666,613 inhabitants, including 341,934 males and 324,679 females, while the number of citizens between the ages of 14-29 is 569866 residents, including 289,151 males and 280,715 females.
In addition, the Interior Ministry drew attention to the number of citizens, between the ages of 30-44 years reached 262,705 inhabitants, including 132,883 males and 129,822 females, while the total number of citizens aged more than 45 years reached 214,321, including 103,543 males and 110,778 females.
