3 workers died in smuggling tunnel in Rafah

Three workers
were lost in a smuggling  tunnel in the al-Salam neighborhood in Rafah southern Gaza Strip on Sunday night following the leak of large quantities of waste water of the tunnel.

According to the local sources ,  the defense crews found the three workers and  transported them alive immediately to a hospital of Abu Yousef Al Najjar, indicating that their health wastumbled within hoursof their arrival to the hospital to announce their death.


 Our correspondent says that the three workers were: Firas Ahmad Al-Sha'er (18years), and Fadi Abu Arada (20 years), and Anwar Abu Arada (22 years).

Thewastewater came from the Egyptian side of the border and flooded the tunnel where the three workerswere inside it. Medical sources said that the accident led to the injury of one worker and the loss of three workers.   Notably , 17 Palestinians were killed since thebeginning of the year and 197 from the year 2006 in the incidentsof tunnels connecting the Gaza Strip and Egypt used to bring goods to the beleaguered strip.
