Explanatory statement issued by Ministry of Interior and National Security regarding death of convicted

The convicted (S. A),55, from Jabalya refugee camp, was died at dawn on Saturday in Al-Shifa Hospital as a result of renal failure, who was sentenced in Gaza Central Prison.

Ministry of Interior confirmed that the deceased was arrested on one of lawsuits, and sentenced for ten years.
The convicted (S. A) was suffering from renal failure before arrest, , whereas, he was receiving full health care to maintain his safety.

Because of his deteriorating health recently, he was transferred to Shifa Hospital in Gaza to receive the full treatment, and stayed in hospital for three months, and a committee from the Interior Ministry is formed to follow up his health.

The committee allowed the convicted to take a vacation during the days of Eid Al-Fitr to participate his family, but his family refused to get him out of the hospital because of his poor health, preferring to stay in the hospital.

The convicted's family asked to treat his son abroad, so, a special committee of the Ministry of Health and Military Medical Services was formed to follow up his health.

The recommendations of the committee stated that the convicted should travel to treat abroad, and his relatives were allowed to make medical a permit to travel, but he died during the procedures.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Interior emphasized that the citizen (S. A) was died as a result of a renal failure before his arrest, and the ministry has spared no effort in providing treatment and full health care to him.
