Ministry of Interior and National Security considered the decision of releasing 63 convicts, who served two thirds of the legal period in rehabilitation and reform centers comes in the context of its policy and the ongoing Palestinian government policy.
Eng. Ihab Al-Ghussain, spokesman for Interior Ministry, confirmed in a press statement on Monday that the Interior Ministry and the Palestinian government release in each occasion a number of convicts who have served two thirds of the period with good behavior, within the powers of the Minister of Interior.
Al-Ghussain said: "The release of 63 convicts a confirmation that we are as the Ministry of Interior and Palestinian government is not our goal to put people and citizens in prisons (..) We are doing this is to deter those who violated the laws and does not return until such crimes and violations of the law."
He explained that the message of Interior Ministry is human, which guarantee the principle of freedom for all. Al-Ghussain also said: "We want freedom for Palestine and the Gaza Strip, and we want freedom for these prisoners, but they do not violate the law again."
The Interior Ministry's spokesman pointed out that the Palestinian people desperately need to unite in a positive way; to serve the people and help them to resist the Israeli occupation.
