A high-profile delegation of 17 parliamentarians from various European countries have met with independent Palestinian legislator Jamal al-Khoudary during a several-day visit to the Gaza Strip.
During the encounter, Khoudary, who heads Gaza's Popular Committee Against the Siege, emphasized the importance of the visit and the need for continuance of such visits in a way that serves the Palestinian cause.
''The Palestinians are still in need of support on all forums in attaining their right and demand of freedom and independence,'' Khoudary said.
The MP also pointed out that the Palestinians seriously need the commercial border crossings of the country to be opened to supply the Strip with commodities without restrictions. He added that the passage way between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank should also be opened.
Furthermore, Khoudary stressed the need of opening Gaza's seaport and international airport after necessary repairs.
All this, he said, must be achieved at the soonest possible time, and the international community must intervene and pressure Israel into having those demands met.
