British authorities transferred Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the Islamic movement in 1948 occupied Palestine, to Colnbrook Immigration Removal Center near London’s Heathrow airport on Wednesday night.
Zahir Al-Birawi, the spokesman for the Palestinian forum in Britain, told the PIC after midnight Wednesday that the transfer of Sheikh Salah to the Colnbrook center was a normal procedure after the deportation order.
He said that an appeal was filed against his deportation, which automatically defers his deportation for one week.
Birawi said that a delegation of the forum and the Palestinian community in the UK visited Sheikh Salah, who told them that Israel was responsible for his detention in the UK.
Salah said that he would not bow to the deportation order because he did not commit any crime and would not accept his reputation to be smeared and would trek all legal means to reverse the decision even if he has to stay in jail, Birawi, who was among the delegation that visited the Sheikh, said.
