Sick prisoners going on strike to take medicine today

About 1500 sick prisoners in Israeli jails are going on strike on Tuesday to take medicine and go to prisons' clinics in a move of solidarity with the captive Atef Wredat.

 

The captive Wredat is on a hunger strike for fourteenth day in Ashkelon prison in protest at being transferred to this prison, whereas, there is any components of being healthy, and he suffers from many diseases such as heart, shortness of breath, calling for transferring to another prison.
 
All prisoner held the prison administration full responsibility for the life of Atef Wredat and all sick prisoners, that is deliberately being kept in bad places, in addition to long delays in providing treatment and performing surgery for them.

 

They added that the sick and disabled prisoners are subjected to slow death, and it has become necessary to international intervention to end the Israeli disregard for their lives.
 
The captive Atef Wredat lives in Hebron and sentenced for 11 years and detained 3/5/2002, and he suffers from heart disease and suffered several strokes.
