Al-Zubda : Electricity crisis is still continuing

People in Gaza strip are still suffering from electricity crisis  , which extend to more than four years , due to unjust Israeli siege imposed on Gaza strip.


Eng. Hala Al-Zubda , the official in the energy authority , confirmed during an interview on Sunday , June 12,2011 with information office at the Ministry of Interior , that the crisis of electricity is still continuing , as a result of permanent siege imposed on Gaza strip for more than four years ago .

    
She said in a response of cutting electricity for several times in spite of discount amount of money from Palestinian employee salary :  " We in Gaza strip suffer a lot  due to a severe shortage of fuel needed to run the electricity generation  , then 170 shekel is not enough to permanent electricity supply for the need of people "


She added , we attempt to reduce the suffering of Palestinian citizen as we can ,  pointing out that they determine the cutting range according to temperature , whereas , the high degree of  temperature force them to cut the electricity for several times .

 
" As long as , we have a shortage of electricity   , the position in Gaza strip will be more serious , and will negatively effect on the Palestinian citizen " ,  she unfortunately assured


In the same context , Al-Zubda showed that they prepare to provide facilities for General secondary school examination , saying that they intend to run the third unity of generating station to reduce the number of cutting hours.


She continued , we intend also to provide more facilities for the Palestinian citizen through cooperation with Egyptian brothers in Cairo to increase the production of station ,in order to cover the shortage partially , showing that there is a previous promises from Egyptian side to supply Palestinian by electricity , but stopped for political reasons during Egyptian revolution.

  
On the other hand , AL-Zubda said that they care about the law-income families , and try to help them , calling these families to head for electricity company to discuss the mechanism of paying .
