Palestinian Minister of Health Dr. Bassem Naim announced that the health situation in Gaza is going through unprecedented severe, emergency and dangerous crisis for medicines and medical equipment.
Dr. Naim pointed out during its emergency meeting with representatives of international institutions and Arab donors and human rights institutions on Tuesday 7/6/2011, that the quantities of medicines are run out in an unprecedented way during the past ten days, whereas, the balance of drugs is zero for 178 varieties of medicines, and 190 varieties of medical equivalent of more than 50% of the total inventory in the warehouses of Ministry of Health.
Therefore, Dr. Naim called all international health and humanitarian institutions and civil society institutions to assume their responsibilities to the complications of this severe crisis.
