Horror stories , victims , dozens of injuries, fractures, different disabilities, catastrophes, tragedies, destruction of houses that's what it is resulted by motorcycles due to daily accidents over 24 hours to increase in these incidents and the damage caused by it , which make people worried about this phenomenon .
Unfortunately , These accidents resulted more of losses in civilian lives either women , children , or the elderly , there is almost no day goes or even an hour without hearing from here and there that a citizen had been killed or injured as a result of motorcycle accident .
In this regard , The information office in the interior Ministry interviewed some officials to show the mechanism which made by traffic police in Gaza to reduce motorcycles accidents .
Maj. Ammar Al-Assar , director of north traffic police , said that they spend all efforts to reduce the danger of motorcycles , pointing out that they work to launch new campaign in June 15 , 2011 aim at eliminating thatcertain death .
" In May 25 , one of citizens (19 years ) , who belong to Abdeen family was killed due to motorcycle accident , and another elderly citizen " 64" also killed in May 24 , in the same way , which means two victims in the same week " , Al-Assar sadly confirmed .
As a result , we in the Traffic police decided to held several workshops in several governorates and non-governmental institutions to warn citizens against the danger of motorcycles in Gaza strip , he added
He followed , the police also work over 24 hours to ensure the security and safety for citizens in Gaza strip , where they prevented the passage of motorcycles on Thursday and Friday to allow citizens enjoy on Gazashores during summer season .
" Most of persons who ride the motorcycles are under 20 years , which means adolescence age and they not know their interest " , he explained
On the other hand , he showed their cooperation with Ministry of Interior , Ministry of Transportation , and political and moral guidance to reduce the danger of motorcycles in Gaza strip , pointing out that they decided to prevent any entering to motorcycles via tunnels or crossings .
The female citizen "P, d" , said that the traffic accidentsformotorcyclesresulted for misuseofmotorcycles, and may besomepeople have notlicense forowned bicycles, causingmany injuriesanddeaths as a result ofthoseincidents, notingthat mostof motorcycleowners are Teens, where theyleading themotorcyclewithout arationalorconcentration.
Meanwhile , the citizen "E,M " demandedthe Ministry ofInterior , and Transportationtoworkhardtoeliminatethe risk ofmotorcyclewhich has become aconcern ofcitizens in theGazaStrip.
Once again , Maj . Al-Assar confirmed the traffic police keen on the lives of citizens in Gaza strip , calling citizens to communicate with traffic police on the number 177 , in order to provide necessary services for them.
