Dr. Mohamed Ascol , Secretary General of the Ministers' Council , has confirmed that the Palestinian government spend great and continuing efforts to facilitate the travel of people across Rafah border crossing point.
Ascol said during his accompanied by a delegation of the General Secretariat of the Ministers' Council to visit Rafah crossing, that the government was in contact with a number of parties to stop the suffering of travelers through the Rafah crossing, pointing to increasing the suffering of citizens and travelers through the crossing during the recent period.
He called the new Egyptian leadership to open the Rafah crossing completely and to facilitate the travel of citizens via it , and work to provide electricity and gas in Gaza, and to increase the bilateral trade and movement between Gaza and Egypt.
Ascol showed , that the Ministers ' Council attaches great importance to the crossing, and work to overcome all obstacles and impediments faced by citizens, travelers, pointing out that the Council of Ministers will also meet the needs of the crossing to provide better service for travelers.
In his part Hatem Aweidah, Director General of the crossing, talked about the services provided by the crossing for passengers, pointing to the existence of suffering and negative decline in the number of passengers.
He hoped that the Egyptian authorities to facilitate the passage of passengers through the crossing and to stop returning citizens.
The delegation of Secretary-General toured in the facilities, departments and services and various sections of the crossing and visited the break travelers set up near the gate of the Rafah crossing on the Egyptian side, and briefed on the services provided to travelers and citizens, traders and truck owners in the commercial crossing.
