.Demands to the European Union to intervene to reopen Gaza crossings

Representatives of private sector in the Gaza Strip demand the European Union to intervene financially to develop the passage of "Kerem Shaloum" to increase the number of trucks bringing goods into the Gaza Strip.
The head of the association of businessmen in the Gaza Strip,  Ali Alhayque, spoke at a meeting with a delegation in the post of Ministry of Civil Affairs in Gaza on Tuesday 10may2011about necessary  requirements to reopen all the passages of Gaza in particular Karni crossing, which has the capacity to meet the needs of the next period.
"The mission of rebuilding Gaza needs to clearly facilitates the import of building materials including the passage of Karni  which  can support the entry of 700 trucks per day while the Kerem Shaloum supports only  300 trucks "he added.
Alhayque now considered that the Palestinian reconciliation provides a Palestinian partner to lead the crossing points with the Israeli side.
In turn, the representative of the European Union "Jerry Wills" assured that these applications will be well discussed and implemented.
