Health Ministry: Chemical status of water wells is not reassuring in Gaza Strip

Palestinian Ministry of Health said that the water situation in the Gaza Strip is seriously deteriorated because the Israeli occupation steals the underground water and destroys the infrastructure.

                                                                                                                           

The Ministry of Health warned in a statement on the occasion of World Water Day, of the existence real risks on the water situation in the Gaza Strip in 2010.

 
It explained that the chemical situation for the drinking water wells is not reassuring at all because of the high concentration of some chemical elements in drinking water, that is 85% in the Gaza Strip, noting that the required percentage is 95%.

 

Ministry of Health also noted that the percentage of samples corresponding to the specifications in terms of bacteriological about 90%, which is unsatisfactory according to WHO specifications, noting that the required percentage is 95%.

 
Therefore, Ministry of Health appealed all international organizations and bodies to put pressure on the Israeli occupation to give our legitimate rights in the groundwater and surface water, demanding to intensify local and external media pressure from risks as a result of the water crisis.
