Hundreds leave Gaza Strip through Rafah crossing

Hundreds of Palestinians have left the Gaza Strip on Tuesday morning through the Rafah crossing, after the Egyptian authorities decided to open the crossing in both directions.

 

Whereas, a state of joy has been dominated on the departures and arrivals to and from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing.
 
Lieutenant colonel Ayoub Abu Sha'ar confirmed that the Rafah crossing will be opened officially until further notice.

 

He added: "the priority now is for the owners of residences and patients because the number of passengers will not exceed 300 passengers, as agreed with the Egyptian authorities."


Lieut. col. Abu Sha'ar said: "the registration will remain opened throughout the period of opening the crossing to facilitate travel of passengers."

Abu Sha'ar confirmed that the number of registered travelers is three thousand people, noting that the Egyptian authorities will close the Rafah crossing on Friday and Saturday.
