Two years ago Gaza people suffered from the last war on Gaza , which resulted many injured , martyrs , and disabled people , in addition to destroyed buildings , homes , and headquarters .
People in Gaza live difficult conditions by the damaged of war , and the continuing siege imposed against them .
Rebuilding of citizens houses was a big problem resulted by Israeli war on Gaza strip for Palestinian people , who can't continue their life naturally.
Dr. Yousif Al-Mansi , the Minister of Housing and Public works confirmed that the destruction reached every thing in the last Zionist war on the Gaza strip , pointing out that there is a large shortage in the housing sector reaches to more than 100 housing unit .
He added , that 55 thousand housing unit destroyed in the Gaza war , including 5 thousands home were destroyed completely , and the percentage of refugees homes from these houses is 60%.
While , he described the role of UNRWA in the process of rebuild as weak , saying that there are contracts held by the relief agency with a number of countries, including what is paid or deferred, such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Japan, Libya, and this means that the UNRWA could start in the process of reconstruction and the problem is not money, or materials of building , but knowingly to stop the reconstruction of destroyed houses, pointing out that the agency did not spend any efforts to enter the building materials to the strip for the reconstruction of the destroyed houses.
Meanwhile , homeowners have held the full responsible for relief agency to delay the end of their suffering , that does not go particularly in the reconstruction for those affected by the recent war , which contrary to what was previously made to the precedence of the damage as this standard forms a consensus of those affected.
Once again , the minister pointed out that the government embarked on the implementation of the first phase of the destruction and reconstruction, which include construction of 1000 housing units for citizens and refugees, despite the embargo , showing that the government does not differentiate between citizens and refugees in light of slowing the agency carry out its responsibilities towards refugees.
At the end he asked UNRWA to the necessity of holding the responsibility towards the rebuilding Gaza strip , as well as demanded it to put pressure in order to left siege of Gaza .
