There is no doubt that electricity and water are basic necessities of human to live a normal life, and to complete his work, but unfortunately the situation in the Gaza Strip is different.
For Four years ago the Palestinian people live and suffer a total darkness and a lot of hurdles and obstacles , that prevented them to continue their life as a rest of the world's peoples , due to unjust blockade imposed on the Gaza strip .
When , during an interview with one of housewives, Ms. Maha Al-Turk," the mother of four children " said , that the occupation has imposed unjust blockade against our Palestinian people , pointing out that the Palestinian people want to live in peace and freedom only , but we haven't any kind of peace or freedom when the Israeli cut the electricity and water, which means that there is no life for Palestinian people .
She added , " Israel doesn’t enough to expel us , or to destroy our buildings and headquarters but also seeking always to prevent us from the basic necessities of humanitarian living, showing that she can't complete her work inside her house , such as cooking , washing and other works , as a result of lack of water and electricity, and the children can not continue their lessons .
Ahmed Al-Riefi , from the residents of AL-Shijaiya neighborhood , who works at one of bakeries has confirmed that the suffering faced them due to the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip, not stop at the power outage, but also the water , which used to make bread, pointing to the new suffering implemented by occupation to reduce the quantity of wheat recently .
Eng. Kanan Obeid, the head of the Palestinian Energy Authority, assured that the Gaza Strip suffers a large gap by the cutting of water and electricity due to Israeli siege imposed on Gaza four years ago , which had caused great suffering for the Palestinian people.
Obaid warned that the Gaza Strip witnesses a significant outage of electricity, due to the control of the Zionist occupation to enter limited quantities of fuel into the Gaza Strip not enough to the needs of the Palestinian people.
In the same context , Mr. Jamal Al-Khudari, Head of the Popular Committee Against Siege , condemned the continuing arrogance of this unjust blockade, which has no justification except that the Palestinians live in steadfastness to abandon their legitimate rights.
A poll showed that 99% of people depend on electricity and water in all affairs of life, so Palestinians asked , How long the crisis of water and electricity will continue ?!., Appealing to the Arab countries and international stats to wake up from their deep sleeping , and stand beside the Palestinian people to enjoy their life like the rest of the world's peoples.
