Popular Committee Against Siege has appealed the Arab, Islamic and international authorities to pressure on the Israeli occupation to enter wheat to the Gaza Strip, especially after the warning of the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Palestinian territories "OCHA" of the suspension of distributing wheat to more than one million beneficiaries.
The Popular Committee considered, in a press statement, that the opening of crossings and entering wheat and all necessary materials and construction materials for residents is "a humane and necessary duty to sustain a decent life for more than a million and a half million Palestinians."
It also stressed the need to open Gaza crossings, and enter all supplies, especially as the closure of crossings contrasts with the international laws and Geneva conventions.
Reports of OCHA talked that the available stocks of wheat in Gaza from January 17 will not cover the needs of the population only for four and a half days.
Popular Committee Against Siege pointed out that the Israeli occupation is still closing the crossings in Gaza, except Kerem Shalom crossing, which has been opened partially to enter 150 to 200 trucks a day.
