Prime Minister: Ministry of Interior reconstructs 60% of its destroyed headquarters .. We going to rebuild the Gaza Strip soon

Gaza – Interior Ministry  
Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh announced that a new project is ready to be launched in the Gaza Strip; to rebuild what were destroyed by the Israeli occupation during the recent war in Gaza, stressing that the government is going to set down the foundation stone during the 48 hours.

 

Haniyeh pointed out in his speech at the opening ceremony of International Forum for Reconstructing Gaza, which was held in Gaza City with local and international participation, whereas, the first phase of this project will reconstruct each destroyed house in the Gaza Strip which were damaged during the recent Israeli war.
 
"Ministry of Interior and National Security rebuilt nearly 60% of its destroyed headquarters, so that they can continue to maintain the security of our homeland and citizens," Prime Minister said.

 

Goals and Ambitions
Haniyeh explained that the necessary funds for this project are available, noting that this project will be implemented with direct subsidy by institutions of private sector and trade union in the Gaza Strip, and he pointed out that it will bring more than one target.

 

He also confirmed that the ultimate goal of this project is to accommodate people in their homes which destroyed by the Israeli occupation, noting that the second goal is to find employment for workers, engineers and specialists, who became unemployed due to the brutal siege.
 
Actual Steps

Palestinian Prime Minister stated in great detail about the steps which taken by his government in this regard, pointing out that it discussed the challenges.

 

"We should have a decision to relieve these devastating effects, so, we contacted with several countries, friends, and good people to provide support soon, and we received $ 60 million, to distribute it to the owners of destroyed houses. " Haniyeh added.
 
He also said: "We've heard that there are a lot of money has been monitored, but we confirm that we did not get one dollar of this money which had been earmarked for the Gaza Strip during the international conferences. "

 

Moreover, Haniyeh said: "We welcomed these steps, and we call all those who are ready to provide aid and support to the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, and the government is ready to provide all support, plans and priorities for reconstruction. 
 

"The Palestinian government did not appeal only, but also worked hard, whereas, we decided months ago to provide a monthly payment for the rehabilitation of infrastructure, and we allocated 80% of fuel tax for reconstruction in Gaza." Palestinian Prime Minister added.

Regarding the vast tracts of government lands, Haniyeh added that the government has taken a strategic decision to build housing projects in several cities.

   
Haniyeh concluded: "Our people proved that they a great people, who are still steadfastness despite of all violations that committed against the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip."
