Abd Al-Aziz Al-Shikaki, vice- head of Palestinian independent personalities, has confirmed that there are no political prisoners or any hunger strikers among the six detainees in the prison of Internal Security of Ministry of Interior in Gaza, whereas, Fatah movement claimed that many of its members are hunger strikers and they are being tortured.
Al-Shikaki said in a statement to Ministry of Interior's website on Sunday night: "There is no a hunger striker in the prisons of Interior Ministry in Gaza," indicating to their visit to the detainees at the prison of Internal Security Service.
He described his visit to the prison in Gaza as "very positive", adding: "we wrote what we saw during our visit and distributed a statement on the mass media that the health of all prisoners and their conditions are good."
Al-Shikaki pointed out that he got the names of those who are in the Gaza prison, including the names of a number of those detainees, who claim that they are hunger strikers, and he denied their hunger strike.
He added: "I asked to visit the prison two days ago and I was allowed to visit Gaza prison," explaining that if he had been asked to visit prisons at any time, I would meet the call.
In response to the arrests of Hamas members and pursuit of resistance by Fatah Authority in the occupied West Bank, Al-Shikaki said: "Our brothers in the occupied West Bank, including Dr. Yasser Al Wadiya visits the prisons there."
He continued: "We have an initiative to release all those arrested on political opinion only, while if the accusers committing criminal offenses, they should be sentenced."
