Gaza - Ministry of Interior
Minister of Interior and National Security Mr. Fathi Hammad confirmed that Ministry of Interior has allowed multi-party and give permission to all Palestinian factions to exercise their activities and events freely after taking legal actions from the competent authorities and without exceeding the law.
Mr. Hammad said during a ceremony honoring the field security committee that supervised on the security arrangements for the festival of Hamas movement in mid-December 2010: "The cooperation between the Palestinian factions and Interior Ministry enable us to provide protection and security for their events."
The ceremony included Mr. Kamel Abu Madi, Major General Abdul Qader Al-Arbeed, Brigadier General Jamal Al-Jarrah, Brigadier-General Tayseer Al-Batsh, Brigadier-General Yusuf Al-Zahar, Brigadier Maher Al-Ramli, Colonel Mohamed Khalaf and Lt. Col. Abdul Basit Al-Masri.
Mr. Hammad appreciated during his speech the role of all members of security committee and all security services that mobilized all their members, stressing the need to serve the citizens and facilitate their affairs and maintain their security.
Minister of Interior thanked all security services and police, including civil defense and military medical services for their efforts in providing the necessary security, facilitating the movement of traffic and organizing the streets during the festival.
