Gaza Strip / Ministry of Interior
Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security has launched on the seventh of November 2010, a campaign of "citizen's dignity and policeman's prestige" for 50 days, aimed at emphasizing on the dignity of citizens, the prestige of policemen and implementing law.
Minister of Interior and National Security Mr. Fathi Hammad, leaders of the campaign, many ministers, MPs, officials and senior officers from the security services participated in the launch of the campaign in "Unknown Soldier Square" in Gaza City the, with wide media cover by local, Arab and international mass media.
GazaPolice:
Concerning the campaign, Gaza police stations organized 13 religious lessons in mosques and 31 visits to the chiefs of families in collaboration with Political and Moral Guidance Commission.
They also made 6 rounds to Gaza schools and met teachers and students to deliver educational lessons, as well as 8 rounds on hospitals and health centers and meeting with officials in these hospitals and visiting the sick people.
Gaza Police Stations visited nine institutions in Gaza, and they also held 4 public meetings with citizens, and paid a visit to 11 markets to meet with vendors and citizens, and visited two injured people.
Police of northern Gaza Strip:
Police station in the north of Gaza Strip organized 1925 visit as part of the campaign of "from house to house", whereas, they visited all families of police martyrs and distributed meat to 50 poor families in Beit Lahiya, in addition to visiting a number of poor families in Beit Lahiya and giving them some money.
Also, police station northern Gaza held 44 religious lessons in mosques, and organized 24 visits to the divans of families, and they participated in 19 funeral and mourning house.
They also visited 13 various institutions and organized 6 rounds to hospitals and health centers in the north of the Gaza Strip and distributed gifts and toys to sick children.
Moreover, policemen northern Gaza organized 6 rounds to schools and visited 6 Municipal Councils and met with officials there.
Rafah Police:
Rafah police stations southern the Gaza Strip visited 1500 house and shop in Rafah and 20 personalities, while they visited 35 institutions visited and met with its officials and explained to them the campaign and its objectives and desired results.
Also, Rafah police stations organized 5 rounds on Rafah schools and met with teachers and students and talked with them about the campaign, while they visited 15 rounds to hospitals, health centers and clinics and gave the sick people some gifts.
They also visited 10 families' divans and explained to them the campaign and its objectives, and visited 70 families of Rafah martyrs and 25 families of prisoners, and 20 wounded, and they organized 10 sermons in Rafah mosques.
Rafah police leadership also organized two visits to the leadership of Islamic Jihad movement and leadership of Al Ahrar movement in Rafah.
Khan Younis Police:
Regarding Khan Younis police stations, the policemen visited 3000 houses and shops in Khan Younis, they also organized 12 police marches in the streets.
Khan Younis police stations organized 6 meetings in mosques, explaining about the campaign and its goals, also they organized 45 visits to the families' divans.
Also, they organized several tours to hospitals and health centers in Khan Younis and visited patients and gave them flowers, and wished them a speedy recovery, and they organized 19 visits to prominent persons.
Khan Younis police stations also visited 25 non-governmental organizations and institutions of civil society and met with its officials and discussed many problems faced by citizens, while they organized five sermons for detainees there.
Police of Central Gaza Strip:
Police stations Central Gaza organized 9 visits to the families' divans and met with their chiefs and talked about the campaign and discussed many problems, while they organized 5 rounds to schools and held an open meeting with fishermen and the leadership of Marine Police.
Policemen organized Central Gaza two rounds to hospitals and health centers, and they met with patients and wished them a speedy recovery and distributed to them bouquets of roses, also they organized 4 rounds on kindergartens Central the Gaza Strip.
Women Police:
Women police in Gaza visited 15 houses of martyrs and prisoners' families and 50 houses for citizens in Gaza, they also visited eight institutions.
They also visited 10 mosques and delivered educational seminars and 10 kindergartens and distributed sweets and toys to children, in addition to 5 rounds to hospitals and health centers in Gaza, and they also distributed meat to 20 poor families.
While the women police in the central governorate visited 50 houses, 4 kindergartens, 3 institutions, and 3, 4 schools, 10 mosques, as they distributed meat to 15 poor families.
Also, the women police northern the Gaza Strip visited 55 martyrs' families, 10 families of prisoners, 7 wounded, 2 hospitals, 3 kindergartens, 3 mosques and 2 schools, and they made a festival for children in third day of Eid Al-Adha.
Concerning the women police in Rafah, policewomen visited 40 houses, 4 houses of prisoners' families, 3 hospitals, 37 patients from children and women, and they visited 5 associations, 4 ministries, and 4 charities. Also, the women police in Rafah provided a house for one of poor family, while the women police in Khan Younis visited 70 families, 7 health institutions and 5 mosques.
