Egyptian authorities decided to close the Rafah crossing, which links the Gaza Strip with Egypt, for six days on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
An Egyptian official told AFP on Monday: "The Rafah crossing will be closed from November 15 until the 20th of November, so that the workers can get a holiday during this period."
The source added that starting from 26th of November, this Rafah crossing will be closed on Friday and Saturday each week.
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak decided in June to open the Rafah crossing for all Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, who wish to travel for treatment and students who are studying abroad.
Whereas, Egypt closed the Rafah crossing after the events of the Gaza Strip in June 2007. Even though it is the only outlet for the Gaza Strip to the outside world which is not controlled by the Israeli occupation.
