Under the slogan of "Honorable citizen and judicious policeman", Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security has launched on Sunday morning (7-11) a campaign of "citizen's dignity and police's prestige"; to strengthen the relationship between a security man and the Palestinian citizens.
The campaign launched by parade that was organized by a number of security services' members and policemen, and included those services "police, marine police, mounted policeand intervention and order maintenance ", who raised large banners emblazoned with the campaign's logo and its objectives.
Whereas, Minister of Interior and National Security Mr. Fathi Hammad and a number of lawmakers and Palestinian government's ministers, in addition to leaders of security services, police and leaders of campaign participated in that festival.
Mr. Hammad pointed out that the Palestinian citizens rallied around their government and the Legislative Council, and they have made sacrifices, martyrs and prisoners, adding: "Palestinian citizen deserves our service and respect."
Minister of the Interior also noted that the judicious policeman, who works in time ceases when many members of security services stopped working, stressing that the Palestinian policeman is working now to protect the resistance and prosecute and trial anyone works against the resistance and collaborates with the Israeli occupation.
Moreover, Dr. Anwar Al-Buraawi, director general of Political and Moral Guidance Commission, affirmed that the campaign of "citizen's dignity and police's prestige", has been made to preserve the dignity of Palestinian people, adding that the Palestinian people represent the source of pride and strength of police and security men.
Dr. Al-Buraawi announced that anyone tries to harm the dignity of Palestinian citizen, he will be pursued by the most severe punishment inflicted by the law.
Also, the Palestinian police chief Brigadier-General Abu Obeida Al-Jarrah ordered all policemen not to default in dealing with citizens, who embraced the resistance and police in the worst circumstances and times, saying: "The police has made great sacrifices to defend the homeland and citizens."
Al-Jarrah added: "We do not condescend on citizens when we respect and preserve their dignity, whereas, this is the tasks of security services and police to preserve the citizen's dignity and humanity."
He also called the Palestinian government to maintain the prestige of policeman, adding: "If there is not a prestige for the police officer, he is not able to enforce the law and re-prosecute the abusers."
