Palestinian Ministry of Interior and National Security issued a statement to clarify the circumstances of tragic incident which occurred on Wednesday morning, 3rd of November, 2010, in Al-Shata'a Camp western Gaza City, which led to the killing of Ala'a Mohammed Al-Souri, and wounding Mohammed Naji Ghaboun. After investigation that was carried out by the commission assigned by Minister of Interior and police leadership;Ministry of Interior indicatedthe following:
1 - The defendant "A. N" opened fire on the two citizens Al-Souri and Ghaboun because of personal conflicts, but he didn't intend killing them.
2 - The defendant was working in a Palestinian police service, but he was not charged with police task during the event.
3 - The weapon used in shooting the two citizens was a gun for one of the accuser's friends not for security services of Interior Ministry.
4 – The defendant "A. N" is suffering from psychiatric and neurological strikes, so he was reckless in shooting Al-Souri and Ghaboun.
Accordingly, Palestinian Ministry of Interior confirms on the following:
First: Ministry of Interior and National Security has consoled and expressed sympathy to Al-Souri family and it wished speedy recovery to the wounded.
Second: All legal actionswere taken against the defendant "A. N", and he was brought to justice.
Third: Ministry of Interior warns our Palestinian people of some tendentious authorities, that want to confuse the society, and we will not tolerate with such these authorities.
