Council of Palestinian human rights organizations discuss ways of ending problem of Gaza passports

Council of Palestinian human rights organizations has discussed ways to end the problem of passports for Gaza Strip's residents.
 

Whereas, human rights organizations in the occupied West Bank met with organizations in the Gaza Strip through video conference, and they took into consideration the problem of passports, which have not been issued for some people in Gaza under the pretext of security reasons.
 
Council of Palestinian human rights organizations' members stressed the illegality of this practice, which violates of the basic law and simplest  rights of citizens, they also confirmed that passport and identity card inherent right of human rights, such as the right of education, employment, health and freedom of travel and moving.

 

Therefore, they decided to organize a meeting with Ministry of Interior as a step before resorting to the judiciary.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Council of human rights organizations has already sent a complaint to the Prime Minister in Ramallah government Salam Fayyad, coupled with a number of cases that deprived of obtaining a passport.
 

And the council of human rights organizations was informed verbally that the complaint was referred to the Ministry of Interior to take practical actions to stop this matter, but preventing the issuance of passports to some residents of the Gaza Strip continued.
