Ministry of Interior and National Security has released on Saturday afternoon, 20 detainees whoaccused of criminal cases,in noble deed of Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh to lifeline "5" convoy.
Minister of Interior and National Security Mr. Fathi Hammad denied the existence of political detainees in the Ministry of Interior's prisons in the Gaza Strip, noting that all detainees have been arrested on criminal and security cases only.
Hammad condemned, through the release of 20 detainee accused of criminal cases by Minister of Interior in noble deed of Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh to lifeline "5" convoy, political arrests that have been carried out by security services that belong to Authority of Fatah in the occupied West Bank.
The release of detainees was carried out in the presence of Minister of Interior and a delegation from the government, in collaboration with Dr. Munir Al-Barsh, Omar Al-Barsh, Brigadier-General Abu Obeida Al-Jarrah and Lt. Col. Nasir Sulaiman.
Also, representatives of lifeline "5", head by the British activist Kevin Oovindn, spokesman of the convoy Zaher Berawi, Uzlndep activist and a delegation from the State of Morocco.
Minister of the Interior welcomed with the delegation of lifeline convoy that entered Gaza on Thursday night, stressing that this convoys have firm will devoted to the Palestinian constants.
Hammad said: "We responded to the desire of Lifeline's activists headed by George Galloway, who asked the Prime Minister Haniyeh to release a number of detainees who have committed certain crimes and punished them, but they become straight in the prison. "
He showed that after consultation in the Ministry of Interior and the leadership of Palestinian police, we complied with the desire of Lifeline's activists to release a number of detainees, calling all detainees to be straight and integrate integration with their people and to be constructive and a good example.
Hammad appreciated the efforts of humanitarian convoys that show solidarity with the besieged Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and he saluted the spokesperson for lifelinn 5 Zahir Berawi for his hard work in communicating with Arab, Islamic and European level.
Moreover, the British activist "Kevin Oovindn" confirmed that their convey is a humanitarian, and he thanked the Palestinian government and Ministry of Interior to meet their desire to release a number of detainees who were detained in its jails.
Oovindn compared with the Israeli jails and Ministry of Interior's jails in Gaza, saying: "when we were arrested on board Marmara ship end of last May, Israeli Minister of Interior did not visit us during our imprisonment in the prison and the temperature of Beersheba prison is very high."
Oovindn showed that the rate of crime in the Gaza Strip is less than its percentage in the world, attributing the reason of its decline to unite of Palestinians in the same front to confront their enemy.
On one hand, Oovindn demanded politicians in the Western world and spokesmen for democracy and human rights in those countries that have the same amount of respect the choice of peoples, and he added: "If they believe in the right of peoples in democracy and human rights, they should respect the choice of Palestinians through the ballot box in a fair election. "
On the other hand, Nasir Sulaiman announced the release of 20 detainee who were arrested on criminal charges on Saturday afternoon, showing that they are going to communicate with public prosecution and competent courts to keep all legal procedures to release the prisoners finally.
He also thanked the convoy of lifeline 5 for their arrival in the Gaza Strip, wishing success to all detainees who were released, and he wished not to return again to the rehabilitation and reform centers.
At the end of the campaign, Mr. Hammad and the delegation of lifeline "5" visited the new Gaza prison, and they admired its distinctive and unique design.
