Ministry of Interior: Arab world supports green passport

Director-General of Passports at the Ministry of Interior, Wesam Al-Ramlawi , has indicated that all Arab States and most European countries recognize the green passport , which renewed by the ministry of interior in Gaza, also allow for its  holders to enter its territory, while a few countries refused it for political reasons."

Meanwhile, Al- Ramlawi stressed in one of interviews that what is saying about the international rejection to deal with the green passport "is just a rumor propagated by the Government of Ramallah."

He said: "Sending passports to Gaza, it is automatically , and very large quantities to cover the needs of citizens by up to ten thousands of passports each month, while after the military decisive mid-2007 was to reduce the sent quantities to five thousands of passports in a month , where it  sent in batches."

He added: "The Government of Ramallah, issued a decision in August 2008 to stop sending passports to Gaza after the discovery of personnel," affiliate for it  in Gaza, "stealing passports and forgery of signatures for the sale of forged passports to citizens," stressing that these measures are aimed to obstacle the work of Palestinian government in Gaza .

 

Notably,  Ramallah government has stopped since more than two years sending passports to the Gaza Strip, issued recently, a new edition of the passport with the black color.
