The international campaign to release Palestinian MPs held in Israeli occupation authority (IOA) jails has called on the members of the executive committee of the council of Asian parliaments to discuss the issue of the Jerusalemite deputies threatened with IOA deportation from their indigenous city.
The campaign asked Chairman of the Indonesian Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Board (BKSAP) Hidayat Nur Wahid asked in a message to raise the issue during the executive committee meeting scheduled for 12-13 October in Jakarta.
It urged issuing a decision incriminating the expulsion and calling for its immediate annulment in addition to asking the world community to pressure the IOA into freezing the deportation decision.
The campaign underlined that the IOA was still persisting in infringing on international laws and doctrines amidst international silence on the detention of 50 Palestinian MPs topped by speaker Dr. Aziz Al-Dweik, noting that nine of them are still held in IOA jails.
It added that the Jerusalemite deputies have been holed up in the premises of the Red Cross in Jerusalem for more than 100 days.
