Public Prosecution destroyed on Tuesday morning large quantities of drugs and contraband medicines, which were seized by the police and Anti-Drugs Unit during their daily operations.
The conference was attended by Attorney-General Mohammed Abed, the Palestinian police chief Brigadier-General Abu Obeida Al-Jarrah, Colonel Kamal Abu Nada head of National Campaign Against Drugs, Dr. Munir Al-Barsh and Amjad Sarhan, Director General of Anti-Drugs Department of police.
The Attorney-General confirmed in his speech that Public Prosecution obtained the last few days jurisprudence against a number of drug dealers and drug abusers ranged between 4 and a half years to 7 years, on the basis of the new law which came into force effectively with the beginning of this year.
Therefore, the Attorney-General Mohammed Abed thanked the Palestinian police's leadership and members in general and Anti-Drug Unit in particular for their great efforts that have been made to combat drug crimes and prosecute offenders.
At the end of the conference, the seized quantities were destroyed in the Ministry of Health's oven in Gaza City.
